Measuring hair loss: Is your hair growth product or treatment really working? Why measuring is the first step.
Have you been applying a lotion, such as minoxidil, for months? Do you faithfully take your supplements? Or do you use a laser cap, a special shampoo, or something else?
And then comes that one question: does it actually help?

In photos, everything depends on the light. And a few hairs in the shower every day say little. The honest answer has often been: nobody knows.
We are changing that starting in October 2026. ProHairClinic is launching a professional, digital, AI-assisted hair measurement.
Measuring hair loss? How? New AI hair measurement or hair analysis
Using a trichoscope, a digital microscope for your hair and scalp, we image your hair with millimeter accuracy. This is the only reliable way to measure hair loss.
New AI software counts and measures what the eye cannot see or what is impossible to measure manually. This provides objective figures on, among other things:
the number of hairs per cm²
the thickness of your hair
the ratio between thin and thick hair
the number of hairs per hair follicle
We measure at fixed points and record them accurately. This way, we can remeasure the exact same spot later.
Why a six-month interval?
Hair grows slowly, on average 1–1.5 cm per month.
It takes at least 3 months before a hair growth product or treatment actually has an effect on hair quality.
A hair goes through a growth cycle of months to years, and changes only become visible in the figures after a few months. Therefore, we work with two measurements:
The baseline measurement: your starting point, before or during your routine.
The second measurement after 6 months: the same measurement points, the same method.
Placed side by side, those figures show whether your hair density and hair thickness remained the same, increased, or decreased.

For every product, even if you use it yourself
It does not matter which product you use or where you bought it. Lotion, shampoo, supplement, laser cap, or medication from your doctor:
A hair measurement does not look at the waist, but at the result on your head.
Even those who don't use anything yet benefit. That way, you know where you stand.
You look at the numbers; we help you read
You won't get a vague "it looks good." You will get the numbers themselves. We will go over them together so that you understand what each number means and what has changed.
Of course, you will also receive a digital report of the measurement;
Important: our hair measurement is a measurement, not a medical examination.

How is it going?
You make an appointment at our institute in Heist-op-den-Berg.
We record the measurement points and take the images. This is painless and takes about 30 minutes.
We will review your first grades together.
After 6 months, you return for the second measurement, and we compare the results.
Curious about your grades?
Stop guessing: is your routine working, or not? Get it measured.
