We use EU regulated pigments

We are often asked which pigments we use.

From 2022 we will use the EU REACH compliant pigments. These are safe for using during hair pigmentation.

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is a European regulation that aims to better protect human health and the environment against the risks of chemicals. It is a comprehensive system that regulates the production, use and import of chemicals into the European Union.

In January 2022, the European Union took measures to restrict the use of dangerous chemicals in tattoo inks and permanent make-up. These measures are intended to protect the health and safety of citizens. Tattoo inks and permanent makeup are popular in Europe, with around 12% of Europeans having a tattoo.

The REACH regulation restricts the use of thousands of hazardous chemicals in tattoo inks and permanent make-up1. This means that manufacturers and distributors of these products must comply with strict rules and regulations to ensure that they are safe for use.

As for micro hair pigmentation, ProhairClinic uses Hanami SMP, the world's first REACH compliant micro hair pigmentation pigment. This pigment has been legal for use in the European Union since January 20222. It meets all requirements of the REACH Regulation and is safe for use.

The use of REACH-compliant pigments in tattoos and micro hair pigmentation is an important step in ensuring that these procedures are safe for consumers. By using these pigments, people can enjoy tattoos and micro hair pigmentation without having to worry about harmful effects on their health.
